The Guide's Hut

I am an avid skier who is on the snow between 60 and 100 days a year. About 7 years ago I started to develop pain in both feet while skiing due to arthritis as well as some bumps that have gradually appeared. Over the last five years I have tried 4 different boot models and worked with 3 different boot fitters to find accommodations with the hope of being able to ski pain free and enjoy my winter passion. I started to think that I would have to give up skiing as I could not find a solution to the discomfort that I was experiencing. Fortunately, towards the end of the 2019 season a skier friend suggested that I visit Guides Hut and speak to Jay Carter. Jay put me in a boot that he thought, with some work, could address my issues. I have now skied over 50 days this winter and have experienced nothing more than the aches and pains that come with age. He has been fantastic to work with and his knowledge and patience are appreciated.

Had some issues with my front fork on my bike while on vacation in fernie. They fixed it within 2 hours and I was able to bike more that day.

My wife and I went for a mountain bike lesson and I bought a pair of 5tens freeride pros. Our lesson with Kat was awesome. She found things for both my wife and I to work on, despite my wife and I being very different skill levels. The lesson flew by, and I feel I came out a much better rider, while my wife came out FAR more confident. We went for a ride the next day and covered far more ground than we would have previously. Also the shoes are awesome.

Had a rear hub issue. Had part of the solution. Needed some parts to complete the solution and correct the issue. Tom came up stairs from the shop, heard what the problem was and fixed it within 20 min. This allowed us to continue on our riding get away. Thanks! Tom and the crew at The Guide's Hut are top notch!
