This is a great way to experience a cable ferry and the ferry captain/driver was humourous and super happy to show how the ferry operates. You're allowed to get out of the car, quickly take a peek over the guardrails to see yourself atop the metal contraption being winched across a fast moving river, them quickly hop back in so you can drive off and let the oncoming cars board. Best part! It is free to use this service and the mini adventure is totally worth the driving time / detour.

All of a 5-minute undertaking but a very cool experience. The late fall setting made it all the more appealing. We were on a motorcycle so that added to it as well. Definitely come from the south east facing northwest across the ferry if you're going to go because you get the best view 🤣. Stunning area for a motorcycle ride!

We crossed in 2011 during a geocaching adventure and really loved it. We were surprised to find this treasure way out in what seemed like the middle of nowhere.
