Wanted to thank Randy and Andrew for helping me with my first road bike purchase! After doing some research on road bikes, I found one in stock at their Main St. location. Due to COVID their hours are significantly reduced and pretty much by appointment so I would recommend emailing or calling ahead of time. They were patient and helpful from the moment we had our first phone conversation. I've been to several other shops to look at bikes, but their staff were definitely not as helpful and willing to answer my questions.
I showed up for a test bike ride and the experience was great. They let me test ride two different frame sizes even though I only reserved one over the phone, switched out the pedals for me, and even arranged for someone to stay late the next day so that I could pick up my bike after my tires were changed. When I showed up the next day to pick up an hour earlier than expected, not only were they fine with it, they even helped me install my bike rack on my trunk (after cleaning the surface of my car too). I didn't even purchase the bike rack from them.
Truly appreciative of their consistent and friendly service as well as their easy-to-understand explanations. Not sure if this is a one-off promotion, but they offer PST exemptions for additional purchases on the bike on the date of purchase, as well as 15% off all accessories within one month of purchase.
So I needed my spokes replaced, since i broke them. They were special spokes and needed to come from Quebec, so west point cycles called them, and then did not contact me to ask the information they needed for 2 WEEKS! I could have had my bike back two weeks earlier. My bike ended up being in the shop for a total of 2 AND A HALF MONTHS. Overall they were nice people but not actually trying. If you need service on your bike i would recommend Dunbar Cycles instead, I am saying that out of personal experience.
(In the end they did give me a discount, but still they should have called me!?)
I went to West Point Cyles on main after extensively researching locks for my brand new $2200 scooter. I asked for a level 10 lock. I was willing to spend the money. The sales associate brought me out a Brontager Lock Pro Chain. I specifically asked about the security of this lock and expressed that I was specifically looking for a high quality, level 10 lock. The sales associate assured me that this was an excellent lock, and that it even came with a warranty that would cover my item if it was stolen.
That was a selling point for me. Not even two days later, my brand new scooter was stolen. I called the company about the warranty, only to find out I was lied to about the warranty. Thankfully my scooter has been found, but after working in sales for a large portion of my life, i'm HIGHLY disappointed with their services. This happened on Saturday, and they are closed until Tuesday. I called them on Tuesday, only to be met with their voicemail services that don't allow you to leave a voicemail. Needless to say, I wont be shopping there again, which is disappointing because I was going to buy a bike from them.
Questionable product quality. Today, I bought two tires, $60 each, and two inner tubes, $10 each. Tire wall says to inflate in 60 to 80psi range. At 59psi, inner tube explodes. I used a rim liner, and there was no rim damage. Also, you cannot browse products, you are told to stay in ‘your square’ even when I was masked.
Needed a quick fix on the front tube, and Andrew was super helpful and friendly. I tend to ask a lot of questions (out of curiosity) when I watch people fix or service anything, and he was patient and nice enough to educate me on all the questions I had. I’ve been coming here for a few years and always had great experiences, and this was no exception.
