Reckless Bike Stores

Highly recommend. I always used to stop to get free air and oil. Eventually bought two bikes here and got to know the staff really well. They are very knowledgable and friendly. Eventual I recommend the shop to a few friends and my brother, who were thankful to have a bike store to call their own.

Incredibly rude service by the bald older bike technician. Not the one with the Russian/Eastern European accent. He was at least more professional. Although they offer servicing as well, this shop mostly does bike rentals, so that is where most of their time and attention is spent on. Service seems to be very secondary to them. We walked by and were looking to get some service done. After briefly explaining the issue, He says "Look, I don't have all day here ok? Are you going to waste my time or not? What do you want here?" A few months later now, we still can't think of any other service experience that was so awful, and where we regretted going to a business so much. It has left a lasting impression on us. I hope others avoid coming here for bike service.

I was referred to Reckless by a friend. Almost immediately I found a bike that I was looking for. Although it seemed as if there was an unending amount of customers, I did receive good customer service from both Paul and Sergio. Even with all the business, they were interested in knowing that I was satisfied with my purchase and instructed me to bring the bike back after a week for a follow up. I admire the work ethic of these men as I can appreciate it's likely a job that is demanding. I liked the way that I am treated because I don't feel as if I am just another customer. I sense that they genuinely want me to enjoy my bike. I'd recommend this place!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! The staff member who was working there this morning, Ahmad, was condescending and rude from the beginning, he was pretending that I don't live here and was giving me lessons about Vancouver. I asked if they could help me fix the safely reflector that just fell from my bike pedal. The staff member said that "that is not important" and that "in Vancouver people have lights in their bikes". This is a safety matter!!! I wish he knew about the basic dangers of pedestrians, runners and other cyclists. I also asked if they sell foam pads/velcro loops as my helmet needed some. He threw a box in front of me and gave me so much attitude while staring at me and saying "that's not how you do it" while I was trying to find one that could fit my helmet. In my experience, every bike store where I have been in the city, staff are passionate and friendly, this is the very first time I've met such an unprofessional staff member in this setting. I am still shocked. I recommend anyone who has questions about their bikes to go a bit further and avoid this store. The only thing I can think of, is that this store is the opposite of gay friendly, as I went with my partner, and she could also feel his prejudices from the beginning. It's so shocking to experience this homophobe behaviour in 2020, and in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, where everyone else is trying to give the best of them and show kindness and respect. I will definitely tell all my friends to avoid this store. I went to another bike store on my way home and they fixed both the pedal reflector and the helmet foam pad in 5 minutes with the best customer service and for free.

My bike seat was rusty and stuck down. Paul the mechanics gentleman was so very helpful and fixed it for me. He was so kind and answered questions I had about taking out rust and showed me what to get and put my seat in the right height for me. I will recommend and come back for the awesome service!
