I live in Ontario and wanted to surprise my brother and his girlfriend with new bikes. Called several shops in Vancouver before reaching Sebastian at Cap’s Bicycle Shop who was totally thrilled to help me find them some suitable bikes. Furthermore the staff at Cap’s went above and beyond helping me create a surprise for them and keep the suspense high, they filmed the interaction when my brother and his girlfriend entered the store so that even from Ontario I was able to take part in the fun. Thanks so much, awesome experience!

Very friendly staff, also very quick and efficient. Will give you exactly what you want when it comes to tune ups/repairs. Won't try to oversell stuff or come off as show-offy. The museum is pretty cool too. P.S.: I have a Cap's in-house Allegro road bike from the early 80's, the bike still works absolutely fine!

I bought a bike here today. Staff was courteous and answered all the questions I had. I got a chance to try the bike before buying it. I noticed it needed some fine tuning on the gears, so I asked about that. They said every new bike gets tuned up before the costumer leaves with it. And that's exactly what happened: the bike was tuned up right away by the mechanic and ~ 15 minutes later I was on my way. I would recommend this shop to a friend. A little update, three years later. Unfortunately, the bike I bought at this place back in September 2017 was recently stolen. I contacted the shop via email because I needed the serial number for the police report. They replied within 10 minutes with the info I needed. The quality of service was, once again, excellent.

I've purchased two bikes from Caps in the past year, and on both occasions I've had excellent customer service. The first time, last year, the sales staff were incredibly patient as I worked my way through the options available. In the end I bought I specialized bike that I loved until someone stole it. I LOVED the aftercare service., and the fact that they gave me $50 worth of accessories for free. The second bike purchase this year was mid-pandemic reopening. I knew more about what I wanted in a bike, and was a more confident rider, so it was an easier decision, but I still returned to the store several times before making my final purchase. I had the same sales person twice--she was fantastic, she knew her stuff, and she answered all my questions, and even cut the post down so I could ride the bike. My only complaint is that (I'm assuming this is because of the pandemic) they didn't do the follow-up fitting a week after I bought the bike and the $50 in free accessories was replaced by a $20 coupon. To be expected, I suppose, given the volume and current conditions but still... Like I said, that was my only complaint--I felt like the staff in general went above and beyond in the current situation, and that they did an excellent job of keeping us safe while allowing us to experience the bikes. Great store. I'm happy to support this local business!

Bought a mountain bike from caps about a year ago and had been taking my bike to be serviced/repaired since. I've had no issues up until I took my bike in to be repaired in late may. I was having issues with my bike changing gears and told the person I was dealing with that I'd like them to fix the issue. They couldn't fix it while I was there so they said they would call me once they figured out what the problem was. I heard nothing until 2 weeks later when I called and asked and was told the bike was ready to be picked up. When I arrived and payed for the bike the tires had very little air pressure, so little that the tire was folding and the rim was almost touching the ground when I rode it. I tried changing gears and when I got to the lowest the chain came completely off. Obviously this bike was not ridden to check if it was working properly before it was given to me. I went back and waited while the mechanic indexed the gears so the chain would not come off. While waiting he told me that because they had rebuilt the shifter it wouldn't work quite as good as just getting a brand new shifter installed. I asked why they decided to rebuild the shifter instead of replacing it. The mechanic turned to his boss and said "thats a good question, why didn't we replace it?" The boss said "well you asked for it to be replaced" I never asked for it to be replaced I wanted it fixed and working properly. I was never contacted throughout the entire time and had to call just to find out it was ready. They offered to replace the shifter and said it should be ready in no more than 3-4 days as they would just be waiting for the part to come in. I waited another 1.5 weeks or so before they finally called me to say it was ready to be picked up. My bike was in the shop for about 5-6 weeks all together for something that could have been 2 weeks had they just called and asked. Never going back again even though I get a discount on labor from buying my bike there. Instead I drive all the way to the north shore from new west and get cove bikes to work on it.
