Well the station seemed to be decent enough, with a waiting room, toilets, tickets office and seating however the canopy was leaking in multiple places which was annoying. Both exits have step free access to the street and are also connected by a wooden footbridge which is clearly showing it's age. Trains stop here about every 15 minutes.

"People think I wrote all my tunes in New york, but actually I wrote all them while sitting around on Platform 1 of Penge East station." ~ Lou Reed And so, in a place where the inhabitants are known as Penguins, Lou Reed first conceived of his strange world of misfits and transsexuals. After Reed became the superstar that we all now think of him as, Penge station was completely redeveloped and tiles representing characters from Lou's songs were fashioned by orphaned children and placed all round the station. You can still see them today. David Bowie showed up here in 1967 and the rest is history.
