The staff are actually helpful here, unlike some Thameslink stations further down the line, mentioning no names (st albans). Yes, st albans is down the line, all trains go up to London, no matter where they are.
The station is fine never have much issue here the same can not be said for the Thameslink train services which are consistently late. A strange thing does seem to occasionally happen here, where the ticket barriers mess up my ticket and cause it to stop working. No idea why, but takes longer than usual to come out then stops working.
The main station is nice and open, and does everything a good station should do. The other entrance is often problematic with the ticket machine, and often times the barriers will be facing the wrong way.
The platforms themselves are large and spacious, so no problems there and there’s also plenty of seating and shelters for longer waits.
Late trains. Too many people wearing masks under their chins. Some station staff oblivious to the concept of social distancing. Two stars because the premises seemed to be relatively clean.
Well connected station in Hampstead. Either in the main entrance as also platform one there a counter for enquires and tickets purchasing.
