The guy on the ticket barriers was beyond nice to chat with and was very approachable. If the station had a wider ticket barrier line and step free access, I'd give it four star. At the very least, the station has a ticket office and ticket machines as well as trains every 15 minutes to London.
Ok so this train will get you here and there. But it's so slow and stops so rarely you'd be better off taking a canal boat. What shouldve been a 20 min ride took over an hour to complete. Why does this train stop at every single station where no other will do that? Is there really a need for a train that is technically a tram? I'd like to point out that I've yet to see anyone entering this train outside London.
Once I missed my train because they were taking apart the ticket machine. Only about 20% of trains are on time in my experience, and there aren't enough trains, especially at weekends, at weekends trains are often cancelled due to a lack of staff.
The ticket office is always closed between 12 and 1pm. They are self service machines, but in my experience then often won't accept payment.
