A good station, there are trains around every 4-6 minutes average however Platform 3 and 4 are very rarely used as they are only used for fast trains towards Croydon ,Sutton, Clapham Junction and Victoria.Trains to Milton Keynes Central (which is quite north of London) go every 30 mins and from Clapham Junction, take the Overground route to Shepard's Bush and go on the WCML through Wembley. Trains to Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton however, don't stop here.There is a very short walk to the Balham underground station.The slight disadvantage is that you have to tap out and then tap back in to get to the underground station.You just go down a set of stairs tap out, walk 15 yards and go down again, then tap in. There are also no shops on the platform *Of current moment* or in the station.Altogether, I would rate this station around 4 stars

It's easy to change between trains here thanks to the island platform track layout. Trains in both directions are frequent, even outside of the rush hour and step free access down to the street is possible by means of a recently installed lift. A subway near the entrance directly links to the Underground Northern Line as well. Service reliability isn't good as expected but at least the station is good enough.

This is my local station and I have to say that it's a nice railway station where one feels safe- well lit and adequately staffed when I have used it. The staff are helpful too and pleasant which is always a bonus! It's a well connected station so good to travel from with a taxi rank outside and amenities .

The best junction station in South London . Tube and trains to lots of directions and quick to Central stations.

Can be very busy in morning peak hour between 7:30 and 8:30. Sometimes leaving 10 minutes earlier is all you need to do to avoid congestion at the underground station. Sometimes the station is shut to allow safe departure of trains. Leave early!
