My boyfriend and I came here about a month ago and bought two bikes. The person that helped us was super lovely. I want to say his name was Andrew...The two bikes we bought were $300 in total. The person who helped us brought out a range of different bikes for a range of prices and then even helped up get the bikes into the trunk. Lovely person. And what an AMAZING thing this shop is doing- making bikes affordable to the majority. PDX has a huge selection of bike shops selling bikes for thousands and thousands. My boyfriend and I are college students and we are currently moving so financially we need to be frugal so this shop was a life saver. Thank you so much Bikes for Humanity!! Will recommend to everyone!

Very helpful, knowledgeable staff helped me pick out my perfect bike, and gave it a tune-up for me. So affordable! Couldn't be happier with my experience.

The basics: 2 hours of volunteering gets you 1 hour of stand time (and advice!). Plus, they have free bike classes, below-market-rate bikes and parts and awesome volunteer opportunities.nnB4H is a wonderful, wonderful organization. Run by people who really care -- both about doing good stuff for the world (i.e., rehabbing donated bikes and giving them away or selling them for cheap to people who couldn't afford a bike otherwise) /and/ about educating their own volunteers. And everyone there is a volunteer. (Though some are also professional mechanics at other local bike shops.)nnThey have great open hours, including evenings.nnTheir 8-week professional bike maintenance class is open to anyone and also, unbelievably, completely free. It is taught by professional mechanics and is top-quality. The only payment they ask for is 10+ hours of volunteer time, which isn't much. And after the class, you'll want to keep learning from them in the shop anyway. And you'll realize how much better your own bike could be if you just put a few hours into it.nnAnyway, it's a wonderful place.

A great shop and location to have your bikes repaired. The service is exceptional! Real nice people! The coffee ain't bad either!! There are classes offered for those who wish to earn a bike by volunteering. Great guys!!!

I have been to this place multiple times since they started and the one commonality in all of those visits was how pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable people are. I know many are volunteers but because everyone’s heart is in the right place and believes in what they’re doing they come to work with an amazing attitude.
