What's not to love?? Nice atmosphere, you always feel welcome. Great hostess whoe is very knowledgeable about the area sites. Fabulous breakfast set up...if you leave hungry it is certainly your own fault. Each room has private bathroom and shower. Beautiful, quiet atmosphere, you can lull yourself to sleep with the clip-clop of the horse drawn carriages. Best of all it is located within walking distance to the flea market so you can fill up and go right back for more! Love this place and would never consider staying anywhere else!!!

Best B and B in the area,breakfast every morning in the main house. The owner is a very great person , and most excellent chef. Rooms are very clean and comfortable .The other guests are very friendly and will help create a family like experience. After one visit you will be back again and again, and you will bring your family and friends.

We stayed over for three nights during the 4th of July weekend, and were extremely pleased with the accommodations. Bridgette met us with a pleasant smile when we checked in Thursday afternoon, and let us know the breakfast times and handed over the key to the room.nThe B&B has two main buildings...there is the main house with some rooms, and then the barn structure in the rear of the property, which is where we had our room. Our room was cute, with quite the teddy bear scheme, and the bed was comfortable. As has also been mentioned, the room had it's own private shower/lavatory as well, which was clean and roomy enough. The room also had air conditioning, which was a godsend due to the heat...though the thermostat is not located in the room so our first night for some reason the cooling left something to be desired. But thankfully, there was a pedestal fan provided that we plugged in, and we rested comfortably the rest of the night. But other than the first night, no issues with the A/C. About the only upgrade that might be nice would be a ceiling fan as well...but more for ambiance than anything else. :-)nnJulia and I were actually in the area to attend my family reunion and sightsee, so other than coffee most mornings, we did not take advantage of the breakfast portion of the stay..but glancing over the spread while getting the morning coffees, it looked like lots of options, and could have been quite yummy.nnThe location is perfect for taking in all of the sights in the area....we took advantage of the Heritage Trail that runs right through Shipshewana, and the affiliated Quilt Gardens...plus the Pumpkinvine bike/walking trail is right there too. And we were also able to use the backyard of the B&B to take in the 4th of July fireworks in a comfortable, easy setting. And although we don't flea market ourselves, the B&B is perfectly placed for that if you are so inclined.nOnly other items of note is that the Mom's Ice Cream just a little down the road is absolutely delicious...though also dangerous for the waistline! ;-)nnThis is our first time staying here, but for future visits and family reunions, I definitely believe we will keep the Old Carriage Inn in mind.
