On the Beachfront

Beautiful view, beautiful weather in July.

We stayed over New Year’s Eve here, and upon arriving we noticed paint peeled around door ways and windows, but everything was dry and we didn’t think anything of it. Fast forward 2 days, and a moderate rain storm rolled in to town, and we woke up to extreme leaking through quite literally every window in our unit, the entry hallway carpet was soaked, and the walls in the entry hall way had became very mushy. Upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the owners were aware of these issues and had made very poor attempts to prevent future leaking. For example a piece or plywood was poorly placed over a window well in the entry hallway in an attempt to prevent additional rain from getting in.nUpon calling the front desk we were offered to be moved to a non comparable smaller unit without beach access and was denied the option to just leave and refund our remaining days. The front desks response was “we can’t control the weather” which would have been a perfectly reasonable response had there been a tsunami or some other extreme form of extreme weather. But, any house on Oregon’s coast should be able to withstand it raining over night. I have a major issue with any company that would knowingly(indicated by poor/lazy Prior fix attempts and prior paint and wall damage) rent out a unit that wasn’t structurally sound enough for residents to enjoy their stay, and then has the audacity to continue charging people for a leaking unit, without offering a refund. I highly suggest anyone reading this review looks at other rental properties to enjoy the beach in.
