REI

I used to love shopping here. Always had good products and good friendly staff to help when you needed it. However, the way they have treated their customers through their store “reopening” leaves a lot to be desired. I received fairly rude treatment when all I wanted to do was buy some new hiking boots. I was told all they could do was “curbside pickup” despite the fact that our state at that time had removed retail restrictions. Why would I drive all the way to the store to pickup something I can get shipped to my house? I wanted to go into the store to specifically try and purchase items where things like fit are critical. I now regard REI as an online-only retailer. I don’t plan on returning to this store in-person ever again. Maybe they’re “open” now, maybe they’re not. I don’t care. At this point there’s no reason to go back. Clearly this store didn’t want my business so I took my money elsewhere.

This location is doing a fantastic job with COVID-19 prevention efforts! They have multiple employees stationed outside the doors reminding patrons to wear their mask over both their nose and mouth and stay 6 feet apart. Inside the store, they were visibly sanitizing surfaces and had employees stationed around the store to assist.

I've wanted to backpack for 3 years... I've looked and researched as much as I can saying one day... Well today I finally came in to look around... Backpacking may not be a cheap hobby but at REI I feel any money i spend in the future will be an amazing investment to my future. I look forward to doing business for the years ahead. Every employee was patient and kind even though I was overwhelmed and lost they helped me leave feeling like coming here was the right decision.

REI is always great store and helpful staff.nnBut now during pandemic they are cleaning after every checkout which I've not seen anyone else do which is super.nnThey also have someone at the door providing some new rules regarding required masks and differences on trying on items.
