Courtyard by Marriott Santa Fe

We stayed here for one night. The hotel is part of the Hotel Rooms For the Homeless. While it's great for them, I wish they would have informed us before we booked as it was uncomfortable having people in our faces constantly without masks on as we walked back and forth from our rooms. Also we had to hear all these noises right outside our door at all times of the night. The overall look and feel of the hotel is definitely not that of a Courtyard Marriott, it looks pretty sad. They had signs everywhere for free breakfast and Bistro, none of this was available. The house cleaning lady just walked into the room, without knocking and way before check out to clean the apartment in the morning. This could have been bad, thankfully I was up and working already. Lastly, the room was nice and seemed clean. Just a lot of negatives to ever consider staying here.

8:30 pm, 400 miles driving, check in here, the front desk guy named Noah told my friend and me, one room of our two-room reservation is canceled by ourselves, no any effort to solve the problem, call the police! Yes, what you see is correct. The customer service call the police to force the guests leave the hotel. The reason is not security issue, just because the guests keeping argue with him. Actually, when we were waiting in line for check in, a old lady argued with him about the dirty room and would like to change a clean one. He told that lady if he offered a new room, and he has to kick out the guest for one room. Yes, he did that. But thereafter when we checked in, he told us our two-room reservation only has one room because one was cancelled by us that day. We told him we did not do that, he said he has the cancellation number(After this case, we were able to talk with priceline customer service and they said our reservation is good). I asked Noah who did this cancellation in his system. He started to become angry and finger pointed me, said he did not know who did it, but this was not his fault. I should figure it out by myself. When It mentioned his chat with that lady, he become really rude to me and said I did the cancellation and I was arguing with him. I asked him if the system showed I did the cancellation. He started to force me out the hotel and call the police. Really bad experience ever.

Pros: room was clean and decorated nicely. Easy check in process. The actual courtyard gives it a Southwest feel. Our first night was good, slept and felt well rested in the morning. Cons: second night was awful. The people in the room above us were so loud. They were pacing the floor constantly and their footsteps were ridiculously loud. I kept waiting for them to go to bed but NO, at 1:20 am they are still back and forth. I don’t think they even sat down at any point. I called the front desk at 1:20 to ask if there was anything he could do and he informed me that he would call them and ask them to try not to be so loud. This only made it worse. They then started slamming the bathroom door every few minutes and began opening and closing the dresser and nightstand drawers loudly. At 2 am I tried calling the front desk again but several tries and the front desk would not answer. Now today I am so tried I don’t even want to go do the sight seeing we had planned.

Outstanding hotel. Very clean, spacious rooms. Front desk staff was exceptional. Rooms were quiet and we were not disturbed by children playing loudly out in the courtyard during our own children's bedtime. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Santa Fe.

I always stay at Marriott hotels. I think their guest services and properties are the very best. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable.
