Lighthouse Inn

I only stayed at this motel when I was caught in extreme smoke from the fires, and could not camp. I was glad to find a room...but, it was spendy. For what it was. Old, mismatched furniture, not impeccably clean. it was hot and the ceilin fan was ineffective. It was helpful to have a microwave and refrigerator. The insulation is poor and I could hear every step and flush from above. They delivered breakfast to the room (what with covid) but the coffee tasted like instant, and the biscuits and gravy....like paste. The sausage was mere flecks. In the lobby with lots of local bric a brac, I saw dust, as though things hadn't been dusted regularly. They had a password for the internet and I went back three times to make sure I had it right. I was, but was unable to log on. That's seriousl. By being across the street from a Florence City Facility I was able to get on their guest usage. This is not acceptable. I can understand an emergency stayover and I was grateful to have a place to be, but this was way too much for what it was.

Update on previous review;nBreakfast was served in our room at 8am as requested this morning and it was so wonderful, huge waffles, biscuits and gravy,nand tasty blueberry muffins which were my favorite. Oj for the kiddos and folgers for dad, overall wonderful experience and we will stay again in the future. Thank you for a great time away!

Despite having a friendly staff, for the price, I was a little disappointed in the accommodations. The room was tiny, the comforter seemed old and likely hadn’t been cleaned recently, and the walls are quite thin allowing you to clearly hear all of your neighbors’ conversations. Otherwise, the hot breakfast was nice and delivered to the room at the right time. Not many options for dairy free or vegan.

The staff here is amazing. They truly go above and beyond with up keep, as much as is possible. Everything wrong with this place is honestly all on the owner. Oddly enough I couldnt leave my ceiling fan going with the light off, had too unscrew the light bulb. The owner seemingly doesn't invest any of the profits into simple improvements. Hot water lasted 5 minutes. Other than that my room was cleaned very well and the staff was willing too help in an instant. Its better than sleeping in your car

I would never stay here again. They have done some maintenance and upkeep but not enough from keeping it up to reasonable standards. Example - we had a VHS tape player in our room with a few VHS tapes. Also it looks like many of the employees live in rooms in the motel......weird. On the plus side it is in a good location for walking to the shops down by the water.
