Hostel

This is a place that keeps reinventing itself. And although there is now wi-fi and areas to charge your phones, it keeps with the spirit of camaraderie and eternal curiosity for this world of us that is so encouraging. I have been here twenty years ago, and despite that this time, they gave me a seniors’ membership…, I feel the spirit of this nearly 100-years-old institution as young, and vibrant as ever.nIn a society that is more compartmentalize by the minute, it is nice to see young and old side by side talking, cooking, or just reading and typing on the computer. Also, if you are a people’s watcher like me, it is nice to observe the mingle of different nationalities, genders, races, or hear the accents of different languages.nThe place is welcoming, and you can check in late in the afternoon. The Cafe is open until 1 AM, and for night-owls like me, it is a plus. I you want, you could do the laundry at any hour of the day, or if it is necessary, you could iron a dress at 2 AM.nMost of all, it is a DYS type of environment that facilitates meeting people, discovering NYC and having a feel of the town. Finally, this hostel welcome families (which I did and I took my nephews from Argentina moons ago). The rooms are cozy and have a private bathroom included in the room.nFinally, if your Spanish is rusty, you will have plenty of opportunities to practice with employees at the hostel. Feel adventurous to learn a little bit about you? Come to NYC to the Hosteling International on Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan, and have a great time.

One night only to catch a flight but it seemed okay , not for couples really.

From my point of view too expensive for price performance ratio and the food did not correspond to my taste, but staff was very friendly and helpful.
