Rite Aid

I went into this Rite Aid this morning to request a flu shot. After filling out all the paperwork and being told to wait a few minutes I was informed that Rite Aid does not take my insurance. How is it that a major pharmacy chain, across the street from a major hospital does not take Healthfurst when it’s the most common insurance in Washington Heights?nWe are told to get your flu shot at any pharmacy and they will accept insurance. Even the pharmacist said we are the only pharmacy around that does not accept that insurance. Poor service and poor community relations all around by this Rite Aid.

The store is fine but the pharmacy should honestly be investigated. The people behind the counter never pick up the phone or just straight up lie about doing their job. Every single time I have had my doctor call in a prescription the people behind the counter without fail say there is no prescription there. My doctor is a family friend and would not be lying about it. There is something really shady going on here and I really hope it is investigated or restaffed because it isn't right to mess with people's prescriptions like that.

Came here for my flu shot and although there was a bit of wait time, the one who administered the shot was nice and sweet.nnService is pretty good and the self checkout is convenient.

Multiple people in the store not wearing a mask. Security guard at the door was also not wearing a mask.

This Rite Aid is usually pretty terrible. I've encountered a few staff members over the years who are kind and helpful, but most of them come across as surly and disinterested. Also, there is almost always a line to pay- no matter what time of day- though the length of time you wait has improved somewhat since they installed self-checkout machines. I don't use the Pharmacy here often, so this review is primarily for the store itself. The self checkout machines bump my review up to three stars; otherwise, it would be two.
