Extended Stay America - Ramsey - Upper Saddle River

Should have read the reviews before booking a room for one of our employees. Our employee had such a horrible experience. Never again. When was this property last updated??? This property seriously needs major renovations, not clean at all. Will not recommend this place at all. Room and hallway smelled atrocious of cigarette smoke and room booked was a non-smoking room. Stay away!!!

Update: The new manager, Steven came to speak with me directly because I was having an issue with money. NJ Legal Services told me to not to pay. I fell into despair. Steve came to my room. We discussed my issue. He said he lived 45 minutes away! Lol. He brought in new employees. There was an adjustment period. Everything is working smoothly again. He even sent me an email saying he was on vacation and we’d talk when he got back. He was not contacted by corporate even when I emailed General Counsel. The legal team did call and said Steve was not in the loop. He cares because he cares! Thank you! Kitchen can not be beat.

In addition to the lack of COVID safety measures (no staff members wearing masks or practicing social distancing), my room was not particularly clean, and was badly in need of a facelift.

In need of an update. The formica counter was splitting... stains on carpet.

The hotel was convenient to where we were hiking in Ramapo Valley and it allows dogs but that’s really all that it offered.nnIt was so dirty and there was some weird tobacco paraphernalia remaining in the drawers of the kitchen - so either staff was using it to hang out or they didn’t clean it well.nnThe linens were stained and it was not fully clean. I had to go buy Lysol wipes and spray to make sure I felt comfortable.nnThe window was broken so it wouldn’t shut all the way which made me nervous since on the ground floor.nnI wouldn’t stay here again.
