They have excellent service and usually employ people who are actually passionate about the outdoors and have first game experience with what they're selling.nThe bike service department is truly beyond expectations. They provide great service and do it at an excellent price. They also are always happy to answer questions and provide advice. There are bike shops closer to me than REI but I'm happy to make the drive to have them work on my bike and know that the work is done right.

It's REI, really expensive iquipment. In all honesty I like them. I have shopped there for years. I get 10% back at the end of the year, also they have decent buyers, so they carry pretty good gear.

Being a member of REI Co-op since 1974 it was a pleasure to shop in person while in Portland years ago. A fine outfitter of outdoorsy folk, great selections from clothing to footwear to bikes to camping & backpacking gear to freeze-dried foods and much more. Clean-as-a-whistle stores, the several I've shopped in person in Oregon and Washington. This particular REI is my favorite. There are now over 5.5 million people belonging to the Co-op these days and the dividends that members receive at the end of the year based on purchases is always a nice perk. Recommended.
