Super 8 by Wyndham Minot Airport

I did not stay here! But if you're planning on it, please read.nnI say the price, and figured a Super 8 would be an OK hotel. Drive to it and notice that there are lots of 'beater' cars in the parking lot. There are also a lot of guys sitting around that look like they are from a homeless shelter. That's fine, and I have no problem with that, but I personally don't want to stay in a homeless shelter. My best guess was that the Super 8 has a contract to house these people. I ended up at the Hampton Inn across the street, which although more expensive, and not perfect did not house the homeless.nnAnd yes, I believe everyone deserves shelter, It just did not feel safe around the Super 8.nnEdit: I noticed that hotel management has posted a criticism of my review. First of all my review clearly states I didn't stay there. Further, it clearly states the reasons I thought of staying there, and why I did not.nnAs far as the men that I saw lounging around the outside of the hotel when I drove up, I never asked any of them what what there habitational status was, but as a native and resident of California, they looked, and acted as homeless people do.nnI still contend that the city/county house their homeless here and will further state that I would not stay in this hotel if it was the last hotel in all of the Midwest and there was a giant blizzard coming down from Canada and the temperature was minus 200° C.

The rate was very good and Nina at the front desk was super helpful. The place is a bit dated but not run down; they were in midst of room renovations when I was there last month.

Room condition was decent. Clean enough for the price. The african american lady at the front desk definately needs to be trained for better customer service. WiFi is terribly slow. Not recommended for business or long term stay despite the affordable rate.

Not clean, and someone prior had taken the batteries out of the smoke detector. If they cleaned they would have noticed because it wouldn’t stop beeping. Woke up with bug bites. Exterior doors have no locks, so it’s definitely not safe, guys watch you walk to your rooms. Very uncomfortable for women. Biggest problem was the safety issue! Fix the locks. People shouldn’t be staying in the stairs hitting on girls. Staff was great.

It's great for sleeping and that's really it. Phenomenal bargain for the area. I would visit again only IF I didnt care about a shower and wasn't going to be in my room a lot
