The lodge is a very reasonably priced event space, and the administrative staff seemed easy to work with (with key drop off possible at the local gas station Cen Ex).nnAs a veteran's lodge, the venue provides cabinets to store and display the many folded flags honoring town service members. You will find interesting art prints and writings framed and hung about the room, relating to military service.nnAs an event space, this location offers:nWheelchair accessible rampsnGreat A/C, even in summer (though the ceiling pipes can leak in the NE corner of the building)nPlenty of tables and chairs (some are worse for wear, or broken, so take care sorting)nPlenty of windows for lightnBrand new bathrooms (upstairs)nA spacious kitchen area for food prep (but as a major downside, it is located downstairs, so you have to run up and down stairs to bus items--though it does have a loading bay for hauling items out of a car)nnNotes: there are a few hooks on one wall where you can hang bunting/garland/etc, but you can't use tape on the walls or add any hooks. So plan your use of the space carefully!nnAfter a snafu with scheduling due to a funeral at the local church, we were short on space for a baby shower, the VFW came through on short notice. So despite the few oddities with this older space, kudos are due to them for their excellent customer service!
