Super 8 by Wyndham Ottawa

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever visited. I was in Ottawa for 2 days, I decided to go with Super8. It was a terrible process from beginning to end. I walked in around 6pm. No one was at the front desk. There was a sign to fill “0” for assistance which I did. A lady answer the phone in a unpleasant manner and told me to wait she will be up in a minute to help me. After 13 minutes she came from the back, NEVER once did she greet me. I told her I had reservations for 2 nights. While waiting on her to process everything my phone rung, I answered it. My nephew live about 2 hours away but wanted to visit before I left. I told him where I was staying once I hung up the lady at the front desk rudely told me if I have company I had to pay extra. This frustrated me but I was desperate to get to my room and take a shower and nap. I simply told her we were meeting later for dinner so there would be no company. I went to my room settled in but needed ice. I went to the ice machine which had a note on it saying the machine was broken go to the front desk, so I did. Again I had to press zero for someone to come to the desk. This time when she came to the front desk it was clear that she was annoyed having to get up to the desk again. She did not have on a company shirt or attire, her belly hanged extremely low below the cutoff of her shirt. The shirt she had on was stained and didn’t seem cleaned at all. Again she says what do you need. I politely replied ice. She walked of and I could hear her shaking ice around which cause me to look her direction. I was shocked. She came back with ice in a thin plastic bag. She grab ice with her bare unclean hands put it in the thin plastic bag. She then yelled at me and said if I want ice come back at a decent time. I was in a state shock. The next morning I was headed out. My room was on the first floor, as I was headed to get something out my car she asked if I needed room service but I declined and thanked her. Once I was headed out I put the do not disturb card holder on the room door I was staying in. I’m assuming she thought I would be out longer but I returned less than 15 mins later because I left my charger. When I opened the door to my room I found her in there looking around. This confuse me, I asked her what was she doing. She said making sure no one else was staying in the room with me. I was extremely upset and told her I didn’t appreciate her walking around my things. She became angry and began to yell. At that point I was done I grab my things to leave. The sheets on the second bed in my room had blood stains on it but the other bed sheets were clean. The cloth chair in the room was extremely dirty and smelled poorly. The hallway floor was dirty and seem to not have been vacuum in days. There was a constant unpleasant smell on the first floor, it was until I was leaving that I realize it was their rooms. She and her family live on the first floor and it reeks of curry and bad body odor. I’m sorry if my next statement seems unkind but it’s obvious and should be stated. The short lady at the front desk is unpleasant looking, unfortunately her death stare and frown makes her look like a monster. She also tried to charge me claiming I drop trash out my car when I told her show me proof she saysndon’t worry about it. I will never visit this hotel again. I will say the older lady and gentleman that was cleaning was pleasant and always smiled. The man that was sometimes at the front desk was pleasant as well. But the short rude lady at the front seems to be a thief and always want to look like she is in charge. She makes the good things unnoticeable, they should keep her away from the guest. I will be reported this to the Better Business Bureau as a well. The Comfort Inn next door was absolutely amazing, they were kind and professional..........

I am a truck driver on the road. I arrived to an exceptionally clean and nice place. The owners have updated this hotel, my room was spotless, no oder of any sorts, no cigarette stains in furniture or bedding, NO BUGS. This will be my go to anytime I am in this area. By the way for all the truck drivers, they do have truck parking.

Been in a lot of Super 8s, and this one is clean and run by a very nice friendly family. Definitely a nice choice.

This is a very adequate place to stay. It is close to other services.

No staff, no dnd option, early check in for an astronomical $10 per hour. This is a trap with decent rooms.
