Holiday Inn Express & Suites Great Bend

BED BUGS!!! I booked a room at the Holiday Inn last weekend for a wedding and expected a quiet stay like I would any other 4-5 star hotel. Instead I woke up at 3am to find bed begs everywhere. On the pillow, in the bed, on the night stand, everywhere. I was bitten head to toe. (Great for the wedding photos!) and their only solution was to put me in another room until the morning because the computers were down. The next morning I asked for the manager and was rudely told I had to deal with the receptionist before she would get someone of higher authority. After I told her my situation and asked for the rest of my reservation to be canceled and given a refund she told me she wouldn’t give me a refund but maybe a discount. After she finally got the manager on duty they did not resolve my issue until I was able to present evidence (pictures and videos) that they would give me a refund for sleeping with bed bugs. Now, a week later, they have charged me for my whole reservation, there is another pending charge for my reservation, and NO refund has been issued. I wouldn’t even expect this kind of service from a motel. 0/10. Would recommend sleeping in your car instead.

The Hispanic lady that works the front desk was rude . Seemed to be having a panic attack. The room was dirty I don’t think they changed the sheets. It’s the only holiday inn in town. Did not apply points and I’m a spire member . Didn’t offer amenity. Corporate should be aware of this . I will not be going back ! Next time the best western down the street is cleaner for a much better value . Very disappointed.

Stay ANY WHERE ELSE in town. I am not sure even where to start. Our whole team stayed here and not ONE person had anything good to say. Someone else booked the hotel room for the team so I had no idea about the price. When checking in I saw an outrageous amount on the screen. When I asked how much I am paying a night all she said was don't worry the incidentals will drop off. First of all that wasn't the question that I asked... but there was a line behind me and I didn't want to hold everyone up. I assumed a lot was going to drop off. I was wrong! They charged us $150 per night for a regular room with full size beds. I stay at this hotel for work sometimes (I should actually say stayed. I will make sure no one from the company stays here again) and the price was only $90 a night for a suite. I guess since the tournament was in town they seen an opportunity to price gouge. BTW the prices right now are sitting at $115 a night funny how after the tournament is done with prices go right back down. The price was one thing but we didn't get fresh towel or sheets changed the whole time we were there. They did however come into our room at 8 in the morning on the day we were checking out! Yes, walked into our room while we were sleeping. My husband had to yell at them to get out. When he addressed this with the lady at the front desk. All she said was well you have to request towels and for your sheets to be changed and that they were supposed to be there at 8 in the morning. I have NEVER had someone come into my room that early or walk in at all. Last but not least she lied about having to ask for the sheets and towels. Another mom was livid because she asked for fresh towels and sheets and they told her NO! We overpaid for a hotel room and didn't get the normal hotel service that they provide. I have nothing good to say about this place. We stay at holiday inn's all the time due to being club members but it isn't worth the time for this place. Just stay someone else, like I will next time you are in great bend.

Only reason this place gets 1 star is it was clean and modern. Other than that it was terrible. Staff didn't know what they were doing, and double charged me. The manager, Candace was completely rude not even listening to me or trying to fix the problem. Even when I was holding up my phone to show her the double charges on my account she was telling me it didn't happen. Tried calling her multiple times and eventually called the corporate office. At first I was met with cooperation but then when the first person tried to take measures the 2nd person didn't follow through and stone walled me. Do not trust this place. They are not honest and will not help you if anything happens. I will never stay there again.

For a hotel in the middle of nowhere in Kansas - this was a very nice stay, I wish I could have used the pool! Very comfortable beds, very clean, polite and kind staff.
