Super 8 by Wyndham Iola KS

The hotel looks nice from the outside and the carpets appear to have recently been replaced. Sadly, there were several burnt out bulbs in the hallways and my room. The outside door on the Northwest entrance is taped open with gorilla tape/duct tape and is unsecure. According to other reviews this has been this way for a long time. Additionally, while sitting on one of the beds (I had a double queen room) I found a large stain on the top of bed so I chose to sleep on the other one. Later on I noticed movement on the floor and found a bug scurrying from under the bed. The bathroom smelled of mold and bleach and there were holes all over the ceiling. The recliner in the room looked as though it had seen better days and I had no desire to use it. I typically don't complain but there were just a lot of things wrong. I feel that if some more effort was put into the Hotel it could provide an excellent experience for its guests. Besides these items there were no major incidents.

Great pillows, lots of food delivery services and clean room w/ coffee!

Not even worth 1 star- The front desk was rude & treated me with a very impatient additude. I was charged for smoking in room when I in fact did not- I had to bring an air freshener! The building was run down, my key did not work at first & you're not allowed to check in until after 2pm. I was charged in total 337$ to sleep on an uncomfortable bed with a thin blanket, in a room with an odor. I usually stay here anually- this year things were changed drastically, I was treated like they didn't want my buisness & then overcharged on untruthful accusations. I will never stay here again- I will drive the extra 26mi to Chanute.

Very nice rooms, great staff, tad pricey on weekdays. Owner/manager was. Slightly rude.
