Received a bouquet of flowers hotel said they didn't have then day i was leaving they found it but wasn't able to get them to person they was for due to having to get on a plane. Charged for wifi then when checking out I was told it was suppose to be complimentary. Staff was friendly and helpful. Needed to switch to a room with a tub and they accommodated this request. Breakfast was decent and filling. Restaurant menu isn't much and what they did serve was decently priced for a hotel. Room was clean and big but was not expressed with superior suite at all pretty much a double queens room but bigger and nicer bathroom with a shower and no tub. Shuttle was not operational.
To start off, the front desk staff is very nice and we had no issues with parking. Although it’s strange to me that parking is not included with your stay, but I gladly will pay the $15 per night.nnWe got into our room and it smelled heavily like cigarettes, but the room was a non-smoking room and had the sticker saying it had been cleaned. Keep in mind, this is during COVID-19, so you would assume the cleaning process is extra precautious on cleaning. How did the cleaning staff not smell the cigarettes? Why were we given a room that was marked “clean,” but definitely was not?nnWe were given a second room after we went down to ask about the cigarette smell, which was easy enough, but when we got into the second room, there was dog hair all over the ground. Had the room not been vacuumed? Dog hair is easy enough to clean up with a simple, quick vacuuming. Clearly this room was not cleaned very well. That’s two rooms not cleaned, which means all of these rooms are not actually cleaned. This is especially concerning during COVID-19 times.nnAfter we settled into our room, I had to upload a file, so I went to use the internet. It’s $13 a DAY for WiFi that’s usable beyond checking your email. How is WiFi not included in my stay? What world am I living in? I can go downtown in some cities and entire blocks have free WiFi. Even the local Hy-Vee has free WiFi, but the hotel I paid over $100 a night for doesn’t give me free WiFi?nnThey don’t do anything for breakfast right now aside from apples and cereal, probably due to COVID-19, but they don’t care enough to clean the rooms properly? I have seen multiple reviews from the past month stating their rooms were also dirty. This is a problem they are aware of and clearly do not care about. Had I checked the reviews, I would not have stayed here, so if you’re reading this, do not stay here. Do yourself a favor and go spend your money at the Marriott across the street.nnAttached is a whiteboard I found when exiting through the basement to the parking garage. Not sure what it means, but was interesting in regards to cleanliness.
Didn't like how the pool was given out. No one was checking peoples times to get in or out. They should find a better way to do reservations, which they weren't doing at all. First come
I picked this hotel because their description made them appear to take covid more seriously than other hotels (I am a health care professional and am traveling for work). I was disappointed to learn this was not the case. I saw so many people walking around without masks, where employees saw them and didn’t say anything. AND, half of the employees I saw had their noses out which effectively invalidates even wearing a mask. This is actually a mask optional establishment. Educating your staff on how covid transmission works would go a long way.
Very nice staff. Willing to help with anything. Clean rooms, still serving a limited hot breakfast. No bag breakfast.
