My stay at the Hyatt in Des Moines was bittersweet. It was an easy check in process with a $50 charge for incidentals ($25 a day, I believe) the room was beautiful & clean with a great view. The price was worth it as I received additional savings through some online deals.nThe worst part about this stay & what will cause me to never stay again was the parking. This hotel has no parking of their own so they utilize parking in a parking garage directly across the street (currently it’s $18 a day, typically $22 but I will explain the “discount”) so essentially what you have to do is take a card attached to a stick when you exit the hotel, walk across the street to the garage, use the card to let yourself out & then park your car (hopefully you will find some street parking) & run the card back into the hotel ud83eudd2fnYeah. Seriously. Your paying to be your own valet.nI refused to do this more then the initial time because I was in shock so I just called the front desk & told the worker to come do it. It’s ridiculous to have someone pay to be so inconvenienced.nAlso when thinking of my grandparents doing this, i just cannot imagine. They need to hire someone to stand there or increase the “discount”.nFor this reason, I would not stay here again.

Nice size regular rooms. We have a room with 2 queens and a couch. The bathroom area is large. There is a desk ..a fridge and a microwave. They have some weird parking set up where you have to get a key to park across the street... and the restaurant area is closed now. Good location and ok price.

Checked in. Were not pointed in direction of our room. So when we came back in from parking the car we asked to be pointed in the direction of the elevator, only to be treated as if we shouldn’t even be in the building! Not to mention we added a $18 parking fee for the ramp, and the lady failed to inform us on how to even access the ramp let alone that you have to physically get out of your car, get the key Fob front the front desk, access the garage, only park on the first floor, and bring the key back to them every single time! We parked on the fourth floor of the ramp, took the elevator down and found out the hard way. That you can’t use the elevator to go back up. We had to walk all the way back up the ramp! When we came back from this confusing parking situation we asked the manager Tony where the elevators were. He then asked us for our id’s, room number, and why we didn’t know where the elevator is. I will never stay here again. And I wouldn’t recommend it. As far as the room, dirty, lumpy old couch and bed, two phones but neither of them work, just overall disappointing.

10/10 would not recommend these low life individuals. Manager by the name of Tony takes already sold rooms by a 3rd party ( rooms purchased at a lower rate) and just sells them to walk ins leaving the reservation you made and paid for 9 hours earlier not available. No phone call, no email. Drove over 1000 miles to find out Hyatt employees treat people like this.

We traveled 6 hours, arrived at 12:15am. Called at 5pm to notify of our late arrival. Upon arrival and checkin, the front desk clerk shared that our reservation had been canceled. We had confirmation by email for our stay, with no cancellation notice attached. Clerk was rude, not willing to problem solve. Once we walked out, we realized this happened to two more families who were standing outside trying to figure out what to do. Clerk then locked the door, refused to answer the door or phone calls trying to get a print out, or calls from Priceline to figure it out. Unbelievable treatment!
