We stayed here for a wedding and have nothing but good things to say about the staff. Our first night was in a room facing the highway, and we didn’t sleep very well. The representative at the front desk was more than helpful to get us switched to another room. The building is older, but the rooms were clean and tidy. Parking is free and plentiful. Overall a really pleasant experience!

Stayed here for 14 years on business and pleasure. Most of the original staff is still here. In normal times the restaurant is great and the service can't be beat. Plus the underground parking is nice, especially in the Winter.
Des Moines downtown Holiday Inn is a fantastic example of a hotel with staffing and hospitality done right. I was only there for a short visit, and was extremely well taken care of by the staff. Max, and Valerie did an incredible job helping me find what I was looking for and made it feel a lot more comforting. It was clear from my room that the building is older but I mean this in the sense of - they don't build them like they used to. I couldn't hear my neighbors walking down the hallway or sneezing in their rooms. Plus the room was immaculate and service incredible. What more can you ask for?
Good except the furnace wouldnt work.
