I hired Five Star to repair my home after the hail storm in Cedar Rapids, After I signed the contract, 5 Star would not communicate with me at all. Contract said work completion in 1-2 weeks. The roof was done after a month waiting, then I had to wait another month for siding and almost another for gutters. It was a complete joke to them. They tried to reuse old trim when they were to put on all new, still have used trim up because the refuse to come back or answer phone calls. The sub contractors turned my house into a central dumping zone for all other siding jobs in the neighborhood. Thousands of nails to clean up, 3 flat tires. The siding crew destroyed my new roof on garage. They said they would replace it, finally replaced after a few more months. They won't return calls and messages. They want money as soon as the crews leave the job and work isn't even done. They still have not even inspected my house. They didn't take out a permit and I get in trouble.nReporting complaint to BBB, for negligence.nExhaust fan vents for bathrooms not installed right, electrical messed up where main wiring comes into house from them siding around wires.nAbsolutely the worst communication I have seen in a business. They don't return calls. I paid for electrical work, but they owner says no electricians, then why did you take the insurance money for the electrical work. Only company I have used that doesn't inspect work of their subcontractors.

They’re great....until you’ve signed the contract and given them half your money. Got our siding fixed, guys showed up and weren’t clear on what all needed fixing. Then once the work was done, we’ve had a big pallet with boxes of siding sitting in our driveway for GOING ON 4 WEEKS...but they’ll call about collecting the rest of their money, that they have no problem remembering to follow up on. And still waiting to hear when they can schedule us for the rest of our work to get done. Not impressed.

Our roofing repair was quick. It was installed 4 days before the derecho and it survived the storm. There was damage to our facia during the roof repair that hasn't been taken care of yet. Andrea was great to work with at the beginning of the process. We were told that we would also get estimates for siding, but haven't been able to get any responses regarding siding.
