I live in NJ (About 4 hours away) and go to their shop! ( I have relatives that live nearby who introduced me to them.) Their very knowledgeable staff is friendly and caring. In purchasing a new bike, they made sure that it fit and was properly tuned. Even though there are bike shops in my area, the trip up to see them is well worth it!
I purchased my first full carbon bicycle used. I wanted wider and more supple tires put on it so I brought my bike there to Mystic cycle center. I have received attitude from other local bike stores when bringing in a bicycle to be serviced that was not purchased there. I experience nothing of the sort here. My salesman and mechanic, Joe, was accommodating, knowledgeable, and above all, polite and respectful. I’ll be returning to bring to used bicycles for them to sell and I need gloves, helmet, water bottles etc. and so on. I will be purchase there. Don’t do it off of Amazon, go to a local bike store that treats us correctly
Couldn't have a better owner of mystic bicycle shop. Great people previous owners and great owner now. Thank you guys for always being there for me the last 20 years. This shop has went completely down hill since it has a new owner. I witnessed first hand today a sales associate attempt to fix a flat tire that took about 20 mins for him to complete. He also incorrectly removed the rear wheel, which resulted in the rear derailleur cable come out of proper tension. Then later argue with the same customer when the sale associate did not returned the customers spare part. And proceed to explain to the customer that they did not need the part any longer. That’s in my opinion is shady if you remove parts from a customers bike, you should give the customer the option of what they want to do with the spares parts.nnIt’s definitely sad to see once one of the top shops in CT decline in their customer service and overall servicing. As a former employee of the former owners, I can definitely say that they would not of have ever let what I saw happened today ever happen.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff and made time to make a quick repair on my bike on a busy day. Very impressed! Chris and the rest of the staff were great.
