I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It is right in the Downtown, walking distance from Central. My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the toiletries smelled good. I loved complimentary bottled water. Many thanks to the friendly associates in the lobby. Unfortunately, Hyatt refused to award me any points for this stay.
After booking a room for a 3 night stay back in March for Oct, and confirming in sept, we arrived to a closed hotel. No warning. We called the 800 number and the customer service person was rude! Thank goodness for Doubletree.
The banquet facility and staff are top notch. Very comfortable venue to attend a presentation. The catering was delicious. I do think that the process of setting the tables could have been a more cohesive endeavor versus the piecemeal and staggered process that it was. Nonetheless, the tables were set. Staff were very attentive to seeing that guests had everything they needed.
The ballroom was well lit. The acoustics were sufficient and the temperature was comfortable.
My only complaint is that after walking around the land exterior of the building to the parking garage we were told that we had to walk back around to the front of the building to access the garage through the lobby's elevator to avoid "safety hazards" per the booth attendant. There is s no signage visible staying this nor were we advised of this during the event- considering the event concluded across the street. Fortunately the wind had subsided and the sun was out.
Otherwise, great venue.
Rooms were clean. Customer service was ok, the lady that was making breakfast was making the guy with red hair behind the front desk uncomfortable. She kept making mean comments to him. He did a good job of continuing his job. But otherwise the hotel itself was good! I would just recommend more parking.
Dated decor. Pillows for sleeping are horrible. Bring your own pillow if staying here. Staff was great but at the high prices the Hyatt is charging you the room should be awesome.
