I have never appreciated a getaway so much. Staying at the Surfboard house was the perfect place to let go of the stresses from the last year. With it's beautiful gardens, spacious and immaculately clean rooms that sit for 3 days between guests our stay was perfect. The location is perfect for surfers and beach goers. We originally only planed to spend half our time here but extended to our full trip because there is no where on the island that we could find that could compare. Remember to ask Simon about the island. He has a wealth of information and a love for song birds.

If you want an amazing vacation experience in one of the most beautiful places on earth, make a reservation at the Hanalei Surfboard House! They have three bungalows on their property where you have the privacy you’ll love and the comfort you’ll appreciate. This is not like staying in a 5 star hotel, it’s like staying in a 10 star dreamlike experience. Yes, you will have to make your own meals but you can enjoy grilling fresh fish on your patio and walking over to the most beautiful breach in Hawaii. A friend of ours who knew the owner, urged us to stay here and it’s our hope to return sometime soon.

This place is great. Just plain great. Come here and never want to leave. Walk to the water. Walk to town. Everything you need in the extremely comfy cowgirl suite. We really really enjoyed it. We left early because the surf was way too high in the winter, but seriously questioned staying regardless because the space was so lovely. Will return.

We loved staying at this place! Every detail was taken care of (baggies for sandwiches, beach chairs and umbrellas, suggestions for things to do, all of it!). It felt clean, and the decor was totally fun! It was a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the Na Pali coast shuttle. Jacky and Simon were both awesome and helpful. The only bummer was our time got cut short by flooding at the Hanalei bridge and we got separated from our luggage. Simon happily offered to refund our missed night and even offered to have a lad jet ski our luggage to us in a pinch if we couldn't get back. Hope to be back some day!!!

We rented the Elvis room for 7 nights in late December. This place is truly a gem. Simon is a wonderful host and has thought of everything. The house is a short walk from the Pine Trees beach in Hanalei a short walk/drive to the town of Hanalei. It was a convenient jumping off point for Ke'e Beach, Tunnels Beach, Kilauea, and all of the North Shore of Kauai in general. The room itself is cozy and comfortable and outfitted with a great collection of Elvis memorabilia, and musical artifacts. The garden outside is beautiful. Staying at the Surfboard House is like suddenly having found your own dream apartment in Hanalei. I could't recommend it more highly.
