Short review: Long overdue review, guys at the shop are awesome, they ride bikes, they sell you what you need, and go the extra mile to make sure you're happy, They're the kind of shop that wants to see people on bikes regardless of what bike it is, they won't sell you something for the sake of a sale but based on your needs (sadly this isn't something some other shops can say). If you're looking for a bike I'd say give these guys a serious look.nnGot into cycling a year ago, after a spinal cord injury from rock climbing, fell in love with the sport got my first bike after having figured out that a gravel bike would best suit my needs. I didn't know much but they helped me find a helmet, sized my saddle, and kind of told me what things I should buy next. I had so many questions and would drop by the shop quite often, they would always help me out (give me a quick tune up if my gears weren't indexed, or my rear mech hanger got bent, or my brakes weren't working as they should have), they never made me feel like I was wasting their time and were friendly enough to teach me.nnService wise: They'd get the job done quickly if I needed my bike by a certain time or date. I learned from experience, make sure to communicate on what you want done as it makes everyone life easier.nnStaff: All the guys at the shop are awesome super helpful, friendly, and are always willing to find a solution when necessary.nnOverall stock: They carry lots of bikes from some really good brands, just wished that they carried more clothing brands, but that's understandable (different suppliers different preferences etc...). If you're looking for something other than specialized (Sorry I'm not into the mountain bike side of things yet) you'll have to go to a another shop.nnI'm no longer dropping by the shop as often, as I do most of my own work on my bike and just drop by when I need to purchase new pads or some small items. But if you're new to cycling I'd say make sure to drop by and check them out.

These guys have helped me out a bunch of times recently. From digging into a bin for parts for an old freehub rebuild to redishing a wheel and throwing fresh tubeless rim tape on it even though they didn't have to. I appreciate the attention to detail. ud83dudc4c

I normally take my bike to a mechanic who is a friend of mine but due to circumstances was unable to. Lifecylces had a good reputation in my mind, so I figured I'd take my bike to the shop to have them insert new frame bearings that I provided. After 6 rides my bike frame had obvious play from the main pivot so I brought it back to lifecycles, explaining that I did not touch the bike but now there is dramatic play from the main pivot. It was obvious the main pivot had been overtightened at some point since lifecycles worked on my bike, and I never touched it before the frame play occurred..... so I'll leave it at that. The manager allowed me to voice the problem and I appreciated a good listener, yet when it came down to it, the mechanic denied overtightening the bolt. The mechanic also admitted that when he replaced the bearings, he noticed excessive wear on the internals of my frame (that you would only be able to see when the frame is apart) and did not make any notes or voice any of it to me and admitted that he 'probably should have said something'.nnIn the end, this fix cost me $400 ON TOP of what I sadly paid lifecycles to do - and that was after the manufacturer made some acceptions by giving me discounts. I don't blame lifecycles for every ounce of damage to my bike, because bikes fade over time. But I am unimpressed with the end result and do blame lifecycles for expediting the damage to my frame. Lifecycles gets a sad 1 star for me because:nn1. a 'certified' mechanic should not overtighten a frame bolt to the point it sinks into the frame and creates playn2. I was not informed of the damage the mechanic discovered with my frame apart in his hands, and he continued to do the work and charge me $120 of labour for it. He admitted to finding it yet did not mention his findings - I expect a 'mechanic' to tell me these things when my frame is taken apart and he is working on my biken3. After speaking with the owner of the shop, I was still not offered any help with fixing my bike nor offered any refund of the work that was done on my bike.nnSadly, I will not be returning to lifecycles and I am disappointed that I was not offered any aid or refund for the further costs my bike required.

Best place I’ve been to, bought lots of bikes from Harv (owner) always helpful and make time even when he’s super busy.

It's hard to deal with the un-friendly employees. It's much better to get a bike elsewhere.
