Waxwing Cycles

Samson is a great dude. Built up my bike from scratch before any other shop could get to it and even did a tune up on it a few weeks later free of charge. Would recommend over any other shop in the area

Refreshing and upbeat! Not the usual terms used when reviewing a bike shop but certainly appropriate when describing the engaging personalities of owners Hayley and Samson. Add in their enthusiasm and knowledge of all things cycling and you have one special place. I have found their mechanical work was performed with pride, precision, and attention to the finest details when repairing my road bikes. Purchasing a new gravel bike from them, they focused on my individual needs and provided great advice on the build up.

TL;DR: My bike honestly feels better than knew. I'll spare you the memoir of everything that Samson did to clean her up, but it STARTED with cleaning the entire bike 3x, 3 times, three times.nnI wish I took more before photos, and I wish I had a nicer day and scenery...but I wanted to capture the amazing job that Waxwing did before I started all of the riding that I'm so excited to do.nnAfter all the maintenance work I've had over the years, including from Big Bang (many of you will be familiar) I've never had my bike returned in such amazing shape.nnI cannot recommend waxwing highly enough. Their prices are more than fair (but if you're riding a Cervelo, etc. you should anticipate to pay for quality...and likely get a killer deal on it). Their service, communication, and candor is unprecedented.nnI will write a memoir if I don't stop now.nnIf you've been looking for a premier bike shop in Western PA...or even further. This is it.nn7 stars out of 5. Will visit again and again and again.

Cool spot for a shop! Cool people (Samson and Hayley, owners) as well. Their attention to detail is unmatched. You truly get a “custom build” experience when dealing w/ Waxwing. They’re willing to take the time to explain options and details and to get it right. Kudos!

Waxwing is my favorite bike shop in Pittsburgh. Samson and Hayley are so friendly and welcoming. The repair and maintenance work at Waxwing is second to none. I've had my race bike repaired and upgraded there.nnSamson does a thorough job of talking through any work he will do before he does it and then discussing all of the work that was done after the job. He will also coach you through what upgrades are available to consider without driving you to purchase.nnIt is clear that Samson and Hayley take a lot of pride in their work. So glad to have found these guys!
