We started our two week trip around the PNW in Olympia and spent only one night at The Marie but it was exceptional! The home is beautiful, lovingly restored to its original grandeur. The gardens are a lovely place to hang out and just relax. The bed was AMAZING and I'm still dreaming about the breakfast! Thank you James; all breakfasts have paled in comparison.nOne of the things that impressed me the most is the care and concern James has for restoring and keeping the neighborhood. No chains or box stores. He and a group of colleagues actually work at maintaining the community feel; something I believe is missing in the world today.nPlease stay at The Marie. You can thank me later :)

I loved everything about my stay at The Marie Bed and Breakfast! You can tell how much heart has gone into creating this amazing place. I was fortunate to have met the owner and to hear about how this BNB came to exist. There’s a wonderful history here. You can feel it in every aspect of the place. I will definitely be back to stay again. I highly recommend experiencing this wonderful place if you are coming to Olympia. You will be thankful you did.

This is the cutest little gem I never knew existed and had to have driven past abiut a hundred times over the years.nnA well-hidden, quiet, tranquil, historical site; we started in the Pine studio suite (because of the claw-foot tub)! It was beautiful and neat how historical everything was kept. Please note that in this suite, there is NO TV; the description does not say it has one, but it also didn't say it didn't have one, so it caught us off guard. But! That's not a justifiable reason to knock any stars in my opinion; it forced us to think of ways to pass pur time (gasp! The horror of just enjoying each other's company!!! Lol). So, whatever did we do?nnWell, the location means you are mere minutes from everything (downtown, restaurants, taverns, bars, a pastry joint, the mall) so we did that. The House provides games to play (we got the chance to play board games for the first time in years), and of course the tub!!!! The house provided a lavender bathbomb that got used. I have never been to a Bed and Breakfast nor into a clawfooted tub, so this was an unforgetable experience. We enjoyed a rain storm at night on the porch while rocking on the provided rocking chairs....we even danced a little in the rain. How perfect.nnThe following morning we went into the house for the provided homemade breakfast; crispy potatoes, a fritatta (egg, caramelized onions, chorizo with cherry-tomatoes and, i think, a balsamic vinegar drizzle), yogurt, granola, fresh coffee, tea, fruit, and lemon-poppy seed (with icing) biscuits. The cook/caretaker is a young man who is very responsive with delivering the experience he thinks the guests want; he doubled checked on the food, how we were doing, communicating when new coffee was available, etc. (Note; follow the instructions provided to recieve the best food experience - be there promptly at 9AM as the food is not meant to be hot-held or kept for hours on end. It's fresh and homemade and meant to be eaten as such).nnThank you Marie for a great, unforgettable, positive experience!

Immaculate, well attended grounds provide an amazing first impression of this charming B&B! The lodging experience is further enhanced by a gracious and helpful staff that accentuate the breakfast element with gormet style fare. The unique furniture, appointments, and detail in decoration top off an extremely pleasant stay.

This is a fantastic place. We love the Queen Anne style and this place is absolutely lovely. The bed was really comfortable and not squeaky at all. Our hosts were very gracious and the souffle breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.
