The staff was lovely, very kind and accommodating. I have zero complaints about this hotel’s staff and service!nHowever as many others have mentioned, the property is very old, and run down. The shower head was leaking constantly, the head board’s leather cover was brittle and thin, the fridge was very difficult to open every time (it seemed to be an issue with the latch on the door?). The door to the balcony was also bolted shut for some reason. It was able to opened maybe 2 inches, which I’m sure was for a reason, however this was not the case last year, was not disclosed, and was the reason I sought out a top floor room. We also had arranged a late checkout on our leaving date, which did not seem to be communicated thoroughly, as we had to clarify this at regular checkout time upon leaving. It was cleared up, but was inconvenient.nWe understand this is not the fault of the staff and do not hold it on them, but feel the whole property could do well with a large scale renovation, or at least some small replacements and repairs.nOur stay was lovely aside from this, the view of capitol lake was beautiful if you ignore the parking lot and businesses beneath it, and the doors to the balcony were tall and wide which allowed for lovely atmosphere with the curtains open.

It is a quaint, older hotel. The price was quite reasonable. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. There was a coffee maker and hair dryer. There was also bath tub/ shower. The bath room had shampoo , soap. There was coffee and tea . There is a continental breakfast with cereal, toast , eggs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is within distance to the Capitol. I recommend it.

Its a little outdated, however the view is worth it. Good employees. I miss a great one that use to be there. I believe his name was John Foster. Extremely professional!

I understand they are under new management. They have their work cut out for them. Rooms smell funky. Just needs a good update. Staff is very friendly though

I had an issue with my card (it was on my Banks end) and am stressed out. I talked to James at the front desk, and he must have worked at a carnival before. I say this because I watch this man juggle being on the phone with my bank, check guests in, help a fellow employee, and answer phones at the same time..nnMy only knock on the hotel was at my room was really cold and the heater and fan were not working properly. But a few minutes after I called and let them know, a Lovely little lady showed up with a heaternn....oh and there's waffles in the morning ud83dude01
