A solid 3 star. Room and public areas were clean and bright. Right next to a Safeway and DD to meet all your needs. Breakfast was set up nice COVID-19 style with only one person handling food and drinks. All employees were wearing mask 100% of the time. 15 minute ride to Black Canyon, 5 minutes to Main Street .

This hotel is disgusting. The first room looked like the beds were made in a hurry by the previous guest, the radio was left on, and it was evident it had barely been cleaned. We called the front desk and asked for another room. The receptionist was friendly and gave us another room, so no complaints with the friendly service there. However, the second room was just as bad as the first. The sheets are horribly wrinkled and do not look new and clean. There are multiple hairs in the bathroom. It's just gross. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, and never been in one so poorly kept, even the cheap motels I've stayed in were significantly better than this. I suggest further training of the cleaning crew, as they clearly get in and out as fast as possible and don't really care about the cleanliness of the room. Quite concerning in a time like this when we are dealing with a global pandemic.

What kept Him from getting a five-star for me was pretty simple in regards to the hot breakfast. I was greatly appreciative of it but it was rather Bland. Their attempt at doing things as best as they could during covid-19, gets a big thumbs up. But that plus the general wear and tear of the building and the room being fairly hot when we got there just wasn't to the full five star. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! The young lady with the long brownish hair was extremely professional and the night staff did okay. Keep plugging away guys will get through these challenging times and thank you for the nice stay

Holiday Inn Express seems to be lacking in cleaning and maintenance lately. I understand the issues involved with Covid-19 but there are plenty things that can be done for free. Dusting. The bathroom door handle was all but falling off when all it needed was to be tightened. Two bottles of shampoo and no shower gel. I do like the pillows.

The pool was very nice. The staff was mostly friendly. Occasionally, it did feel like we were inconveniencing them when asking for seconds on breakfast or asking for an additonal pillow. None of the soaps in our room were full (shampoo, conditioner, or body wash). We asked for a non-smoking room, but the room still smelt smoked in. It was an OK stay.
