All good things to say! Room was clean and had the essentials...coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Guest laundry area was a plus. Front desk agents Jennifer and Laura were very friendly and helpful!! Shout out to Kelli in housekeeping for referring me to a wonderful mechanic. We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. This was our first time at an EconoLodge, and based on this positive experience, we plan to stay at this hotel chain throughout the rest of our trip back to New York. ud83dude00ud83dudc4d
Where to begin? We arrived 15 minutes before their check in time of 2 p.m., but the staff told us that typically they tell people to check in at 3 p.m., and we would not be able to get a room until 2:30. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but reeked of cigarette smoke. There were large baseball sized holes in the walls, which were paper-thin. I could hear our neighbor using the restroom rather loudly in the morning, not the best way to wake up. The shower curtain was too small to be closed, and the hair dryer was detaching itself from the wall. After trying to use it for 10 seconds, it started smoking and stopped working. The bed was quite firm, and did not come with a blanket or comforter. There were just two sheets. Our door also did not lock properly. A neighboring child mistakened our room for theirs and simply pushed their way in. The room does come with cable TV, a fridge, and a microwave. The location was also convenient, but unless you have low expectations, I wouldn't recommend it.
I was a bit worried after reading some of the other reviews on here but I stayed there anyway and I'm glad I did. My friend, her dog and I stayed for two nights. The ladies who run the front desk are super nice and helpful. Anything I asked for like fresh towels, styrofoam bowls,late check out or help when my key card wouldn't work they were so nice and friendly even when I had to interrupt one lady 3 times while she was folding sheets, she didn't make me wait or act like I was a bother in anyway. I honestly have to say the customer service here is exceptional! Our room was clean and NO BED BUGS, I REPEAT NO BED BUGS!! That was the first thing I checked for once in my room. It is a older hotel it's not perfect but when I'm staying at a hotel my main concerns are the cleanliness of the room, being bug free, and receiving excellent customer service no matter what the price that's why I gave 5 stars and I would definitely stay there again.
Staff was friendly and nice. But place is way more run down than pictured. Booked through booking.com and it has a picture of the hotel that is very dated, didnt think we were at the right place when we pulled up. Baseboards coming off in hallways. Door to room had problem locking, weird odor, stained pillow cases. Also they do not have blankets just 2 sheets on beds. So if you so stay bring a sleeping bag. Fridge and microwave in room. Convenient location to Royal Gorge railway and bridge.
Great room steps away from the old downtown shops, eateries and breweries. Also right across from the Royal Gorge Train Station. And for a guy like me the best part is there is an ice cream shop right next door.
