I've had my camper there for a number of years without problems, but this past year some semi-wrecked RVs moved in. It appears to me that those RV owners are using Stars & Stripes for more than just storage. In the past year I've had my license plates stolen, my RV cover melted when one of the wrecked ones caught fire, and my coach battery stolen in separate incidents. Until they're able to clear out this undesirable element I would hesitate to store anything of value here.
Stars and Stripes RV and Boat Storage is about the cheapest location you can find to store a boat or RV. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. In a period of 10 months, I've had both batteries and my spare tire stolen. While I now make sure to either lock or remove these items before storing, this is unacceptable. Apparently, many others have had items stolen or even their trailer broken into. Recently, evidence abounds that someone has been living in the storage area (trash, a pried open camper trailer) and there have been huge bonfires. I'm unsure if the bonfires and destroyed equipment were the result of drug activity, carelessness or something else. All I know is that, together with the weedy and unkempt lot, I've had enough and am more than happy to pay double the cost. In addition, the VFW that owns/operates this seems to be defunct. You can never reach anyone by phone (voicemail is full) and it's been months since I've seen anyone at the VFW building itself or been able to enter. Not even sure how you would be able to rent a spot if you wanted to.
