I'm pleasantly impressed with Veloworx. Not sure why the negative reviews. I've been to the shop twice. The first for a test ride, and the second was for a brake pad replacement. In both instances, I received nothing but excellent service. The owner / staff patiently answered all my questions about the bike, and during my second visit, they gave me honest advice that my brake pads and tires were both still good. Even though they had to remove my front wheel to remove the brake pads to examine them, and then put everything back, they didn't charge me a cent. This is definitely my go to my go-to bike shop from now on!
Ordered a Yuba electric bike over the phone before my move to SoCal. Everything was done over the phone and communication was good. Pick-up of the bike was quick and easy with social distancing/ masks required. Everything on the bike is nicely and correctly assembled! Staff were kind and friendly. They also have cute dogs!
If you love being spoken to as if you’re being done the biggest favor and treated with the utmost disdain and spending a lot of money on a half job - this is the place for you.
I bought a fuji bike from veloworks, they told me what a great bike it was when I bought it and that it had a 12 month warranty. I really do like the bike, after 11 months the rear axle broke. When I called they told me it would take 2 weeks to get a new rear wheel under warranty or I could buy one for $60 and they could fix it right away. I brought it in and told them I thought it should be covered under warranty. The Chinese man told me a bike of this quality you should just buy a new one when it fails. I guess I am too nice, because I just paid to get it fixed, BUT I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. The bike was less than one year old, they should have covered a broken axel no questions asked, instead they tried to make things difficult for me.
I purchased a Fuji Sportif 1.9 Disc from here around September of 2020 during the pandemic.nnI managed to walk away with it for something like $850 before tax which is what the fuji website has it listed for. So I definitely appreciate that they're not taking advantage of the market and marking their prices up due to scarcity.nnThey didn't have the 54cm size built out in the store yet so I had to wait just one day to pick up my bike after purchasing it.nnI've put about 390 miles through it according to Strava and everything is going great performance wise. The shifters sometimes have trouble downshifting while climbing hills but that's expected since Fuji ships the 1.9 with the Shimano Claris groupset: literally the bottom line groupset that they offer. So you get what you're paying for in that regards.nnThe disc brakes are tuned really well. I'll do about ten miles a day on the Marvin Braude beach bike path and haven't ran into any squeaking or major brake pad degradation yet.nnOn the assembly of this bike, Veloworx did an amazing job. Additionally, they offer three years of warranty on this bike for any defects.
