La Cueva Lodge

Came on the spur of the moment.Just to get away with all my kids.laying in my bed right now watching a movie feeling at home and exhausted from playing all day in mountains.Our host Heidi makes you feel so welcome and at home you just don't want to leave.Thank you Hiedi!!! Will be back!!

The women and her husband that run the place are all they way around rude people I went two days in a row and had my room reserved for two nights and rooms were occupied and the lady comes out with no mask smelling like alcohol told me and my wife that there not renting any room because of the government but didnt tell us that when we first arrived earlier before check in at 3pm but half the rooms had people in them lol. I prefer just to stay somewhere else this place is a waist of money and time and there ripping people off on money online the website to make a reservation says the rooms cost $85 a night and the lady tried switching it up saying it's $180 a night even on a week day the lady is plan out rude tried asking her a question about checking in and she gave me attitude and said at 3pm the board will be updated which is stupid if you ask me

I was only here for work but It did seem like a mini vacation. The area itself is breathtaking and the owner's of LaCueva were very accommodating and down to earth. They made us feel as if we were going to definitely enjoy our stay and we did. I enjoyed the free wifi and propane bbq grills in the back which we cooked rainbow trout on that was freshly caught. The store called Amandas which was just a few feet away provided me with everything I needed. The employees were very helpful and a pleasure to talk to especially Stephanie. I'm going to return to LaCueva when not working to spend some time hiking and fishing. I recommend you come and enjoy.

I called and left a message to cancel my reservation, due to work, but called back with in 30 minutes on the same answer machine to keep the reservation. messages had not been checked til that morning and i tried calling all morning when i got a TEXT message not a phone call as I requested to explain the situation. I cannot see how it could have been booked without even calling me back as I requested. Needless to say I was unhappy with the SERVE and would recommend ELK MOUNTAIN LODGE. For the price and service it is worth it.
