Historic Hill Inn

The Inn has an outstanding location within walking distance to many Newport attractions, restaurants, and the waterfront. It could use thorough exterior and interior renovations. Another plus of the Inn is free parking in a small lot right outside the building. I do wish I paid more attention to another review about poor internet service, as we had no internet in and around our room and the occupant in the adjacent room also stated the same. The owners offer helpful advice about restaurants and attractions. Coffee, tea and packaged snacks were available throughout the day and evening.

The owners are nice and helpful. Our room was very small. Ad in it's you or your suitcase. In the morning we were woken up by the loud construction noise right outside our room. The inn could do with a complete renovation.nLocation is very nice, though.

10/25/2019. Is this place a 5 star hotel by traditional standards?No. It is 5 star for average people looking for a great comfortable B&B place to stay and still feel at home. Donna and her husband do just that. Bfsk if you want. Clean, centrally located, walk to many areas. Donna is also a wealth of information for Newport and very easy to talk to. Also, if you stay there, you have a free parking space.

Absolutely loved our stay at this quaint Inn. I grew up in Newport, so it was especially fun to stay in this home versus a hotel. I felt like I was back in the old house I grew up in, and it certainly enhanced my visit.. The icing on the cake were the Inn keepers, (they were the embodiment of hospitality and graciousness). This location is in walking distance to most points, restaurants, shops etc. Mansions and beach are in walking distance or a short drive. Newport is a must see if you have never been. Also someone mentioned in another post, there was no central A/C, however there are window units. This is very common in Newport, as most homes were not built with this feature. In my opinion, you are experiencing the true authenticity of being in Newport home. As well as many of the other homes features. I loved it !

Beware!!! My daughter and I stayed at the Historic Hill Inn in Newport, Rhode Island this past weekend. After checking in and settling in we went to the beach. Upon our return I found my jewelry box missing. It contained my $2000.00 gold Michele watch along with gold hoop earrings missing. After a long search we realized it was stolen. The only person who had access to my room was the owner to drop off towels. After contacting the owners to tell them what had happened, they were dismissive and offered little help. I contacted the Newport police department. The owners never reached out to us and after seeking them out the following morning they were attempting to place blame on me as if I misplaced my entire jewelry box. Upon turning in my key made sure I signed a receipt and again offered no help as a follow up. I called the next day to see if they searched the room. The wife became very belligerent, screaming and yelling. My watch and jewelry box has never turned up and I was charged $450 for our one night stay. Accommodations were horrible and my daughter and I did not feel safe knowing someone had come into our room and robbed me. The Newport Police are in the process of conducting an investigation.
