For military absolutely the best hidden gem on staten island.

Great experience so far. Good location, nicely sized clean rooms, seems safe.

Our room was clean and the staff are friendly. Few minutes away from the ferry and there’s enough parking space for you to avoid too much traffic in Manhattan. Subway is just near if you’re feeling a little touristy by walking and taking the subway too.

It was a nice hotel ud83dudc4d The staff was very kind and they served a pleasantly simple breakfast (hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, and a few other things). The rooms were well maintained and clean!nnCons:n1. The base is open. I was told the gate was closed at night but several nights this did not happen.nn2. The exchange on the base is incredibly small.nn3. There is no gym inside the hotel. You will have to go to the gym located across the base (about 1-1.5 mi).

This is my third time staying at the Navy Lodge and I normally never have an issue. When we arrived at our room it seemed like it hadn't been efficiently cleaned. There were crumbs all on the kitchenette floor and there was a spider web in the bath tub along with a daddy long legs to go with it. The maid Alexis however was happy to come tidy up the room for us when asked. She had a wonderful attitude and made sure we were happy with it before she left. We left to go out and about and when we came back to the room and I got ready to take a shower I noticed a bunch of ants in the bathroom. In and out the tub, on the walls, etc. I wasn't too pleased with that. I'm giving a 3 star since this is the first time we have had this issue and the great attitude of Alexis. Hopefully if we decide to stay here again we won't have any further issues.
