Pesach in the Northeast

The owner Bruce Backman is a legend. He has been running a pesach hotel for ten years.nnHis food is impeccable.nnStaff are great.nnDay camp is superb.nnHave been going for two years, and heading for my third.

The hotel staff were great, and the food was wonderful. But the Pesach in the Northeast staff and programs were awful. There were no arrows posted in the hallways to direct you to either food or programs. Kids ran wild without supervision. I can't walk, yet I was put in a room on the top floor, which is a huge safety red flag, with a tub/shower that I couldn't reach at all. My first morning, I searched the hotel for an hour before I was finally directed by a hotel maid to the breakfast area. There was nowhere for people to sit to enjoy breakfast, and there were also no forks. Sitting in my electric scooter, at least I had a place to sit and eat, when they finally ran down for forks. I was shown where the seder was being held, which was in an enormous dining room. I was seated in the middle of the room, which I couldn't access since I can't walk well and can't maneuver around the tables and chairs to get into the middle of the room. The battery on my electric door lock went bad and I sat in the hallway outside my room for 20 minutes before someone came, realized the battery was dead, and went to get a replacement battery. I'd been there exactly one day, and I packed up and left as soon as I got back into my room. I had paid for a 4-day stay, but didn't bother to ask for any refunds since your contract states that there are no refunds. No one missed me, and no one called to find out what had happened to me. I had been looking forward to this holiday getaway and was obviously bitterly disappointed.
