Galusha's Cottages

DO NOT BOOK THESE COTTAGES!! They are run down, and falling apart. The floor is sinking in, and unleveled. This cottage felt like a scene out of a horror movie. There are no locks on the door, and no locks on the windows. When asked where they are, we were informed there werent any on any of the cottages. The smell as soon as you walk in, is so horrible. Owner tried opening the windows before we got there to try and hide the smell but it was so potent of cigarettes, mixed with mold/mildew. These cottages do not look like what they do on the website. It is so misleading, and should be updated. It was such a horrible experience, and especially did not feel safe.

Great people, Great View, the only downside is 10 minute drive to get reception.

Love the lake, cabin was in a nice location with a shared sand beach and was adequately (if 50s style) furnished, but cabin itself (although admittedly their oldest and least expensive one) was in poor condition. Ceiling was water stained and warped, obvious mouse droppings all over the cabin and on the table and chairs every night - openings in the floor with direct access to the ground allowed the mice easy access. Stove was only partially functional and bathroom/shower so small as to be almost impossible to get into. Owners have not been able to keep up with basic repairs. Hard to get anyone by phone ahead if time to ask questions. No warning on website or by phone, but they only take cash or checks, no credit or debit cards. Probably would have been lovely 50 years ago, but at at least this cabin is very run down.

Nice place and sweet people but it’s incredibly difficult to get a hold of anyone via phone. You always get a machine and no one ever seems to check the messages. I had questions that took forever to get answers to leading up to my stay there. Beautiful area for a getaway though.

Beautiful untampered scenery. Felt very at home. Stayed at one of the cottages on the lake. Very reasonably priced..Definately going back soon.
