Americas Best Value Inn Scarborough Portland

This is a great place for nightly or weekly rentals. The owners and staff are friendly and they are welcoming. They take covid very seriously here (sadly not enough places do) so you know you are safe.nnThere is sometimes a hard time getting a room here on the weekends, but this is simply because they do a great job and people know it.

Front desk was friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately we had keys not working to get into our room so we had to keep going back to the office to have them switch our room. They said it was from moisture and they planned on replacing the locks then Covid hit. We stayed in a double queen bed. Plenty of room. Everything looked fresh and clean. There is a microwave and a pretty decent size refrigerator besides of course the TV. Electrical Jack's were a little funky and not at floor level but up by the light fixtures in case someone needed to bring a longer cord. The place itself was quite busy but it was fairly quiet. No complaints from us about noise. Beds were comfortable.All in all a better than expected stay.

First let me say that hotel ratings should be looked at with price first in mind for what you are expecting. I stayed here for $65 on a off season Saturday night rate. The room was clean which is my biggest expectation. I had the 2 queen bed room. Both beds where firm but comfortable. So now I'm happy.nnThe room had a mini fridge and microwave. A/C and heat. Bathroom was spacious. The hotel is right on route 1 but it was not noisy once you closed the door.nnOn strange thing to me was the number of items to potential guests. For a double queen room that can be up to 4 guests. It had: 2 towels, 3 cups(in plastic) and one shampoo. I would say to check your needs before the desk closes. (At time of post it says it closes at 9)nnMinor things to note: mini fridge and a/c unit both had a little bit more noisy than you would expect. The lock to the room looked odd but worked just fine. The towel bar was moved and the new paint didn't match. No continental breakfast even though the website mentioned it but we are still in covid (Sept 2020) and the coffee to go cups didn't match the right size lids. I know that I'm nitpicking but I'm just being thorough.nnPS. There is a nice sand beach down rt9 that has free parking after 5pm (about 10 mins). And a few local seafood places to eat. The front desk was not helpful for local - non chain restaurants.

Nice room, shower is great, water pressure is awesome, room was clean but the rug needed to be vacuumed, and some spider webs could of been dusted out of the missing bathroom light socket and some cracked paint on the ceiling in shower, but great room for the price that I paid.

Reserved a king size room only to be told there was something wrong with it.. when asked the guy behind the desk.what was wrong it he just said something was wrong ....wasn't offered any money back or anything ...I feel like they pulled the bait and switch !!!!!..pay for 1 thing got something alot less in value the worst part was the room itself unclean and gross.I would call the guy behind the a gentleman .....but he was rude and very unhelpful.. even for the cheap price there's better options out there
