I came in for a tuneup and also general question on bike fit. They gave me a whole rundown and more on knowledge. Really, really helpful for people trying to learn about bikes!nnI got my scheduled tuneup finished, and it’s better than any job I can do for sure. My bike is riding smooth and I’m very happy with the service and cost.

I'm so happy my bike just so happened to need some TLC upon the re-opening of Ascent! I'm not often in Ballard so this shop hadn't been on my radar until now. Eddie and Hannah kindly helped me out and diagnosed issues with my bike beyond the new chain I originally came in for. with a nonjudgemental atmosphere and quick turnaround time, I'll be going out of my way to return to Ascent for my future tune up needs. thanks team!

Where to start! After ~5 years of owning a bike in Seattle there are only a few bike shops I would recommend, and Ascent Cycles is at the top of the list. I've used all of their services short of purchasing a bike, and everyone is incredibly helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. After a few bad experiences with other bike shops, these are the only mechanics I trust. They are also to thank for my steadily increasing self-sufficiency in basic bike repairs/maintenance. It's no surprise that even during COVID they've been fastidious in protecting their employees and customers. Most recently, Hannah helped pack up my bike and coordinated shipping it overseas. It arrived in beautiful condition with minimal effort required from me to put it all back together!

I have been going to this shop for over 7 years and I have had countless encounters where my mountain bikes were not serviced properly, built incorrectly and often customer service was rude. It seems that the services are rushed and sloppy. I have not found the employees' knowledge of mountain bikes to be very extensive. This environment has caused stripped shock bolts, bolts torqued to the wrong specs and lack of knowledge when asked about the service in detail. I have experienced these issues first hand and I highly recommend making the 10 minute drive from this shop over to Evo where they have a deeper understanding of mountain bikes.

I've had multiple services there including general tuning on my chains and brakes and also bought tires etc. too. Overall I'm pretty happy about their service. Hannah was very patient and trustworthy in fixing my bike.
