Good folks. Great product. But very long wait times. Customer lines are long and slow. I called a day ahead & prepaid. Still a long wait.nnUpdate: 12/2020nTried to buy again in Nov 2020 several times & could not get anyone. Gave up.

Horrible Horrible customer service. Came in on a Friday. No other customer in the store. Waited a ridiculous amount of time for someone to speak with us. Was told we would have a quote on the next Monday. 3 weeks passed, multiple, unanswered phone calls. No one ever answered the phone or messages until we asked to speak to the manager. Another week goes by and we received a hastily written email for the most ridiculous price I’ve ever seen. I thought it was a typo. I was so disappointed in my experience at Reed’s metals. An awfully enormous building with numerous offices and staff but apparently a floundering business with a total lack of time-management and people-skills.

Where do I start? I went in Reeds on September 23rd. I sat down with Joe and told him what I wanted. 48x36 pole barn. He typed it up and I paid nearly $9k that day. He said give me ONE week to get all the materials together. ONE “month” later it was ready. But they didn’t call me, I had to call them to find out. It was suppose to be delivered on a Monday. Nobody showed up. I called them the next day, they said it would be Wednesday. Nobody showed up. I called them Thursday morning and they said their was some miscommunication and it would be delivered first thing Friday morning at 8AM. My contractors were at my house waiting on it. I called reeds and they said there must have been some miscommunication between the dispatcher and driver. It was not delivered until 5:30pm that day. The contractors came back and started on it Monday morning. They got to looking at all the materials and found out we were short 4 trusses. I looked on the sales order and added the prices up (because they do not put the quantity on there) and I was only charged for 4 trusses. I was suppose to have 8. So guess what.. more miscommunication. We was told they were going to be made overnight and be ready at 7:30am on Tuesday. Well Tuesday morning came and nobody started on it. After a few phone calls from me and my wife they got started on them and said they will be ready Wednesday morning. I went up there Wednesday morning to pick them up. I had to pay more money $640 to be exact to get the trusses that THEY left off the original order. Then I had to go wait in a line of trucks until I was called to come pick up my already made trusses. I have never in my life experienced anything like this. I will never do business with them again and if you are smart, you will not either.

I went with my husband to Reed’s Metal in Brookhaven to pickup some simple items or so we thought. Had spoken to someone earlier and was told they had what we needed. First of all, we had to wait over an hour to get someone to help us. Second of all, they had no knowledge of what we were talking about and told us to go to another metal place. This is not the Reed’s Metal service that we are accustomed to. Have used them several times in the past and this will probably be our last. Horrible customer service and no knowledge of products that they sell.

Not at all what it used to be! Mr Bernie HAD a good thing going. Seems like overnight it started going downhill and it hasn't stopped yet. I heard he sold half the business, after I heard that it seems like it gets worse every time I try to order metal. Incompetence abounds... Up until 2 or 3 years ago, it was an awesome place. Not anymore..
