Called this company requested an inspection and a cleaning and they scheduled it. The man showed up came in with a flashlight and spent 30 seconds looking at the chimney and said everything looked good. He headed for the door and I said what about the cleaning I requested. He said you have to call back and schedule that. I said I scheduled it with the inspection and he said no you didn't. I said yes I did and it was a lady that I scheduled it with. He replied I know you didn't because I'm the owner. and he left. He was literally in my house for less than 5 minutes. Absolutely terrible customer service especially from the owner of the company.nI promptly called another company that came out did the inspection and cleaning all at one time. During the inspection they actually they found a couple of small cracks in the floor of the fire place which step in time didn't find maybe because he only spent 30 seconds looking at my fireplace. step in time will put there regular apology out there for this review . So if you would rather have an apology for poor customer service rather than have good customer service go with step in time otherwise there are plenty of other good companies out there that customer service is important to.

Just experienced one of the worst pieces of professional phone etiquette in my 50 years. Pompous, irritating, and rushed. If this is the way they conduct business, run.

Made an appt and he was able to come next day. He was super nice and didn't even charge me for the quick repair. Thank you!

I contacted A Step In Time for an estimate on cracks in the concrete on the fireplace floor. Renee(very nice, helpful and worked around my work schedule each time) scheduled an appointment for an inspection/estimate. Michael(knowledgable and personable) came out with in days, did the inspection, he took the time to take photos of inside the fireplace and explained what he found and gave his recommendation(replace chase cover, clean & paint black cap, new concrete floor, and threw in clean dryer vent) and an estimate. Within days from the inspection Dave came to measure the chase cover and said it would take at least 7 days for the cover to come in. Once the materials came in Renee made another appointment(around my work schedule) Dave(hard worker, thorough and socialable)returned to do the work, he removed and replaced the wood under the chase cover, installed a new chase cover, painted the cap black, busted up and poured new cement floor, cleaned the service box, swept the unit and cleaned & serviced box. I am very pleased/satisfied with my entire experience with the people, the work and price. I would highly recommend this company
