Red Roof Inn & Suites Madison, GA

Honestly this hotel doesn't even deserve one star but you can't give a lower rating. I got my family in the car at 8 in the morning in Virginia and drove until 6 p.m. to arrive at this hotel and sleep in the double room that I reserve back on January 31st. I called the hotel when we were about an hour out to let them know our ETA and that is when they thought it would be pertinent to notify us that they let the person who was in our room the night before continued their stay in our reserved room, and therefore they no longer had a double room to rent to us.nnThey offered a king suite as an alternative but when I arrived the pull-out couch that they insisted My Two children could sleep on was a twin size. I tried my best to make a bad situation workable and asked the clerk at the front desk if they could pull another twin from another room into that room trying to find any way to make it work, but that just led to a convesation on the phone with her manager suggesting i check other hotels for overflow rooms. At 630pm, I left to go get dinner for my children, and ended up paying a little more for a different and much nicer hotel across the street.nnThe Red Roof tried to call me back 4 hours later, at 10p.m. to tell me that they found a cot to put my second child on. ud83dude12nnVisual impression of this hotel was that it is falling apart there are holes above the doors along the ceiling line, the pool is not functional, and full of algae, the 2 rooms I saw were dingy, and not at all as pictured online. And from what I understand on the other reviews I've read, while they say they are starting Renovations now, that's been their story for a long time.nnDo yourself and your family a favor and just go right across the street behind the Cracker Barrel and get a nice room for your money so you can sleep peacefully and know that the staff cares whether or not they have your business.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It smells awful and is absolutely not maintained well. There are LIVE COCKROACHES IN THE ROOMS. The manager acts as if they don't care. This feels like it violates major health codes. I really hope I don't catch anything from here...in the middle of a pandemic. It's one thing to have dead bugs, but live ones?? Absolutely DISGUSTING. It's true; you get what you pay for. The management also didn't want to give my roommate his money back for it because we were there for five hours. Had to call corporate and complain to get any real resolution.

Very clean & quiet. Within walking distance of everything. Pet friendly.

Im giving it 4 stars because i have been to alot of different hotels all over Georgia and I've seen some 5 star hotels have the worst customer experience. But the housekeeping staff here are the best at what they do and we all know sanitation is a top priority during this pandemic. The rooms here are bigger then most u will see and the beds here are very comfortable. Now I do have a issue with the way some of the front desk staff treat some of the guest. Always complaining when they have to help a guest or just being disrespectful. That's not cool and should be addressed immediately....Other than that u really can't beat the price for a great stay!!
