Traveling, we love Inns that have direct access. The Big Sky Lodge didn't disappoint, the view was amazing. During this COVID-19, clean rooms are mandatory and the rooms were extremely clean, the owner even washes and hangs-out to dry the bedspreads. We were impressed. Very personal people who made our stay comfortable and safe. And the bonus: it's only a short drive to the Black Hills for sightseeing and visiting Mt. Rushmore.

It was a pretty nice place for price. Its was nice to have a fridge and microwave along with free wifi in a smaller cozy room. The view of the city below can't be best though

Impressed. Old motel type place. Better service and facilities than I expected. Dated, of course, like some people complained - it is a 2 star hotel and not a Hampton Inn, BUT has up-to-date TV, A/C, heat, beds, fridge, microwave and anything else you would like.nnCannot beat the view or location or service or price or front desk staff. We changed our one night stay here into four. Internet so-so if you are working in your room all day - but I'd hope that is not why you are visiting. They have a hot tub 500 ft up in the hills above Rapid City overlooking 40 miles of view. Wow.

We had a week long reservation. My wife, my 11 yo daughter and myself. After a 14 hour ride to get there, we are informed at the desk that as a matter of policy, they would not rent a room for a week to more than two individuals. We had made the reservations through AirBnB and had had actual conversations with the host about the local sights and the fact that the three of us were very excited to be there. We ended up having to book at another hotel immediately. Fortunately we were able to do so. Worst experience I have ever had with a hotel.
